Biography
Jeanne James, Communication Strategist,
is the founder of The Woman’s Voice Institute™ and
creator of the Women, Voice, and Power© seminars. Her mission is to introduce women to new, effective,
and embodied experiences of our authentic voices
and to teach us how to consistently access and
express ourselves with authenticity and authority.
A teacher, wife, and mother, she was propelled by a life crisis in 1990
onto her own search for her “woman’s voice.” What followed
was years of intellectually rigorous study and writing that included
nine years as a Jungian analysand, five years in Feminist Spirituality
at The Immaculate Heart College Center in Los Angeles, and six years
of Vocal Awareness training at the Vocal Awareness Institute in Encino,
CA.
In 1999 she traveled to the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA to study
Vocal Awareness™ with its creator, Arthur Samuel Joseph, M.A. Around
the dining room table, she shared the story of her journey with the women
in her seminar and told them of the deep learning she had acquired along
the way. They encouraged and supported her in making this important body
of knowledge available to other women.
She now teaches in five subject areas related to women's voice, communication,
and development: Vocal Awareness and singing, woman's language, writing,
woman's biology and psychology, and Feminisht Spirituality." Her
students each have the opportunity to discover their own individual pathways
from their
outer voices to their interior, hidden, and personal voices in writing,
speaking, and singing and outward again to expression with more vibrant,
authentic and powerful voices.
Communication Strategist, poet, DreamTender, and member of the Feminist
Spirituality community in Los Angeles, Jeanne James speaks to issues
of woman’s
authentic voice, wisdom, and authority.
